On Monday, January 22nd, Globalpesca SpA, through its Communications and People Management departments, conducted the second delivery of plastic bottle caps collected in the office and on the vessels to the president of Lions Club Women Austral, Constanza Crespo.
The total amount collected was 22 kilograms, distributed in two bags with the aim of financing and supporting families with children undergoing pediatric cancer treatment in the capital, along with promoting recycling.
The collection of bottle caps by Lions Club Women Austral involves various collection points in the city of Punta Arenas, such as Zona Franca, Rofill, Espacio Urbano, and the Globalpesca office. This campaign directly benefits the Damas de Café de Chile, an organization focused on caring for boys and girls with cancer receiving treatment at the Luis Calvo Mackenna Hospital in Santiago. These children, along with their mothers or fathers, are welcomed at the ONCOGAR shelter.
Throughout 2023, the collection of bottle caps from the Magallanes Region reached five tons, raising a total of approximately $2,200,000.
