On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, both vessels were successfully dry docked at the floating dock of Sociedad Iberoamericana de Reparaciones Navales Ltda. (Sociber).
“I was impressed by the preparation of the operation, the organization of the dock staff involved in it, their commitment to safety, and their remarkable experience in these types of maneuvers,” commented acting chief engineer Mauricio Jaure, adding that “the main challenge was having to lift two ships simultaneously that appear identical but have different drafts, which required the dock to precisely adjust its lifting process so that both vessels could be properly settled and then aligned for their final stabilization, which was achieved flawlessly.”
During their time in the dock, both vessels will undergo maintenance, structural repairs, inspections, and measurements to meet the standards of the DNV classification for Globalpesca I, and the Local Commission for Ship Inspection (CLIN), of the Maritime Authority.
The Globalpesca Operations, Engineering, captains, chief engineers, and officers have held meetings with Eduardo Nuñez, Sociber’s project manager, to coordinate the ongoing work.
