Last Tuesday, August 22, a historic milestone occurred in Magallanes, as Chile Valora awarded diplomas to the first 34 Labor Inclusion Managers required by the new Chilean inclusion law. This law aims to promote equal opportunities in the workplace and the hiring of people with disabilities in companies with more than 100 employees.
One of the first 34 Magellan individuals to receive certification after months of preparation, study, and evaluations is Mónica Oyarzo, head of the People Management department at Globalpesca.
Furthermore, as Mónica Oyarzo, our Inclusion Manager, explained, this law acknowledges the talent and abilities of all individuals, regardless of personal differences such as age, nationality, language, gender, or disability status.
The Inclusion Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all inclusion initiatives within Globalpesca. This includes the training and education of our entire workforce, the implementation of inclusive policies, and the creation of a work environment that celebrates diversity.
The Regional Ministry of Labor expressed hope that “this will be the first group of regional inclusion managers and that after them, many more will follow, making our regional companies 100% inclusive workplaces.”
