On June 3, the factory ships “Globalpesca I” and “Globalpesca II” docked at the Prat dock, in the city of Punta Arenas, marking the end of the first half of the catch of toothfish according to our quota for this year.
On this occasion, the Globalpesca I vessel caught 172.7 tons, while the Globalpesca II extracted 189.7 tons of toothfish. Arrival that is related to the beginning of the ban on this species in Chile, a crucial measure for the conservation of marine resources and the sustainability of the fishing industry.
The ban will allow the recovery of cod populations, guaranteeing their availability for future seasons and contributing to the ecological balance of our oceans.
