On Friday, a partnership was officially established at the Globalpesca office in collaboration with the Ladies of Coffee from the Lions Club, aiming to donate all plastic bottle caps collected on land and at sea for the benefit of children with cancer. The collection will take place in a metal heart installed at the 21 de Mayo office.

During the event, Constanza Crespo, the president of the Women’s Lions Club Austral, expressed gratitude for the company’s involvement in this initiative. She explained that all the collected bottle caps are sent by truck to the Ladies of Coffee in Santiago, where they are sold. The proceeds from these sales finance the ONCOGAR shelter, which accommodates mothers and/or relatives of minors undergoing oncological treatments in the capital.

Mónica Oyarzo, Head of People Management, appreciated the commitment of Globalpesca employees from various departments who have worked together to establish this alliance. She expressed her gratitude and stated, “Thanks to the presentation by the ladies, we can understand the profound support provided to children and women with cancer. This is something that can happen to anyone and it touched my heart, reminding me of a personal story.” Mónica added that as a team, they will continue to promote this initiative.

Globalpesca will have a designated collection point, represented by a heart, for community members to drop off bottle caps. Additionally, the People Management team will be responsible for collecting bottle caps at the office and on the company’s boats.

This initiative not only deepens Globalpesca’s team commitment to environmental care through recycling but also contributes to supporting children with cancer and their families across Chile.
